SEATTLE — Seattle Mariners fans have had a lot to be excited about this season, and a new study shows that they’re some of the nation’s happiest.
The study, which was conducted by Online Betting Guide, an online betting community organization, analyzed each U.S. sports team’s social media activity to determine which ones had the happiest fans.
The Mariners ranked in third place, only behind the Atlanta Braves and Milwaukee Brewers.
Mariners fans scored a 7.82 on their “fan happiness index,” significantly above the average MLB fan’s score of 5.40.
After a 20-year playoff drought, this might finally be Seattle’s year, as the team has won its last twelve game — their longest winning streak in more than two decades.
The Seattle Kraken also made the list, claiming sixth place on a ranking of the NHL teams with the happiest fans.
