Man injured in fall down elevator shaft

SEATTLE — A 35-year-old man was injured in a fall down an elevator shaft Friday night in Seattle.

Rescue crews were called after 7 p.m. to the 1000 block of John Street.

Seattle firefighters said the man fell approximately 15 feet on top of an elevator car.

Medics performed lifesaving efforts, and the man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

It is not yet known what led to the man’s fall, but it is under investigation.
