Man accused of pointing gun at people near Space Needle arrested

SEATTLE — A 33-year-old man who a witness said pointed a gun at several people near the Space Needle was arrested early Friday morning, according to Seattle police.

A person who called 911 about 12:20 a.m. reported seeing a man point a gun at two women in a parking lot in the 300 block of Denny Way, police said.

When officers arrived at the scene, the man and two women were already gone.

A witness described what happened to officers, saying after the women left, the man had threatened multiple people at a nearby store and then left in a vehicle, authorities said.

Police said they found the man in a vehicle in the 2700 block of Alaskan Way after getting the witness’ description.

The man was taken into custody without incident and a handgun was found on him. He was booked into the King County Jail.
