BREMERTON, Wash. — A Washington man, convicted of shooting another man who complained about the fake heroin he sold his girlfriend, has been resentenced.
The Kitsap Sun reports Carlos Alexander Lima had three years dropped from his 11-year sentence Friday after the case was sent back to Kitsap County Superior Court.
Lima was convicted of several charges, including second-degree assault, along with aggravators for using a firearm and selling the bunk heroin in a school zone.
Lima sold a woman a substance in 2015 he said was heroin, but after returning home the woman discovered a sugary substance.
The woman and her boyfriend went to Lima's house the next morning and demanded either heroin or their money. Court documents say Lima struck the boyfriend in the head with a pistol and shot him in the side during a struggle.
