TACOMA, Wash. — A 7-year-old boy was injured after being struck by a vehicle while trick-or-treating Monday night in Tacoma, police said.
The boy was hit at about 7:20 p.m. at North Ninth and I streets.
He was taken to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital and is in critical condition.
Police had originally reported that the victim was a girl. They later confirmed the victim is a boy.
Police said the driver tried to leave the scene but witnesses detained him. He was arrested for vehicular assault and suspected DUI.
