KENT, Wash. — Kent police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead, and two others injured.
Officers were dispatched to the 18000 block of East Valley Highway around 3:20 a.m. Sunday after police received reports of an illegal discharge of a firearm.

About 20 minutes later. a security guard on patrol in the area encountered an individual on the ground outside a strip mall in the 18100 block of East Valley Highway. Police arrived and determined a male victim had died of a gunshot wound. Police also found a second male with a gunshot wound who was transported to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Police then received reports that a third individual with a gunshot wound had been taken by private vehicle to Valley Medical Center. That individual was later transported to Harborview with life threatening injuries.
