Seattle Humane said it took in nearly two dozen dogs this week following the recent flooding in Thurston County that forced hundreds of evacuations and left dozens of homes ruined.
Cellphone video taken by Joint Animal Services in Thurston County showed the rescue of several dogs on a boat in flooded streets.
Seattle Humane said some dogs were surrendered by their owners and others were transferred by Joint Animal Services to make room in its shelter for animals displaced by flooding.
Some dogs are already on the adoption floor while others, including the puppies, will first go into foster homes.
All of the nearly two dozen dogs, including a mom and her eight newborn puppies, will need new homes.
