PORTLAND — A 10-year-old girl was injured by a blade inside of Halloween candy acquired while trick-or-treating in Vancouver, Washington, the Portland Police Department announced Friday.
The girl's family told police they trick-or-treated in the 1900 block of Northeast 97th Street in Vancouver.

“This is a highly unusual case and there is concern about other tainted candy existing or being ingested,” a spokesperson for the department wrote in a news release.
According to police, the girl bit into a mini Hershey’s candy bar and injured her tongue on a small blade in the candy.
The girl later went to Randall Children’s Hospital, but police said the injury is considered non-life-threatening.
Police are now advising parents to carefully inspect all candy and notify the department if other tainted candy is found.
