SNOHOMISH, Wash. — Eight adults, eight children, and some pets were all rescued by Snohomish County Fire District #4 when floodwaters got a little too close to home.

The rescue happened around 11 a.m. involving three separate families along the Snohomish River, near Stocker Fields.

SnoCo Fire District #4 said the families had planned to shelter in place but didn’t anticipate how high the floodwaters would get or how long it would last.

Earlier that day, rescue swimmers pulled out five adults, a child, three dogs, and three cats from flooded homes in the same area.

Officials confirmed that nobody was injured.
