SEATTLE, Wash. — The cold front is working its way across western Washington right now. We’ll drop down into the 40s by tomorrow morning.
The stormiest time around Seattle and throughout most of Puget Sound will be until about 10 p.m. this evening.
So, for the next couple hours around Seattle, we’ll start to see the weather conditions really begin to drop off.
We have a wind warning posted on the beaches on the West Coast, and we also have a wind advisory around Puget Sound, including the islands up toward the Canadian border. It also extends all the way down to the South Sound.
The winds could gust over 60 miles per hour on the West Coast, and they have already done so in places like Hoquiam.
We could see winds with 40 to 50 mile per hour gusts around Seattle. It should be from now until 10 p.m. Saturday evening when those winds will be at their peak speed
The rain will spread over Puget Sound and also move toward the Cascades by about 10 p.m., so that’s the window of opportunity for strong winds and heavy rain.
Unfortunately, we could start to see some power outages as we go through that part of the evening across the area.
Overnight tonight into tomorrow morning, some high elevation snow is still possible this evening. Passes should stay wet and not necessarily snowy. The snow levels will be above 5,000 feet.
Tomorrow morning is looking a bit breezy during the day Sunday, but the big show will be over by the time we get to Sunday afternoon.
Now, that being said, we’ll have some clouds, some breezes, and there could be a few showers still sort of tailing along this front Sunday afternoon.
So, it’s possible some more shower activity will be out there, but nothing like what we’re going to see Saturday night.
The big Seahawks game tomorrow should be OK, with temperatures in the 50s and a little breezy.
Looking into Monday, you can see we have a bit of a break in the weather, but by Monday evening into Tuesday, another round of rain is on the way.
So, hunker down tonight. Stay home, if you can, because it’s going to be pretty stormy tonight across all of western Washington.
