Orioles’ Means throws no-hitter against Mariners

SEATTLE — Orioles’ John Means has thrown a no-hitter against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park Wednesday afternoon.

Facing the minimum three batters each inning, Means struck out a total of 12 Seattle Mariners, tying his career best.

Typically, this would have been a perfect game, however Seattle’s Sam Haggerty reached first after striking out on a wild pitch, but made the bag before being thrown out in the second inning.

This is the fifth no hitter thrown in T-Mobile Park. The last one, in 2015, was at Safeco Field.

Orioles’ Valaika and Miancini each hit two home runs, lifting them to a final score of 6-0.

The no-hitter ended the Mariners’ current home stand, as they have the day off tomorrow and play the Rangers in Texas on Friday.
