Current bidding for Kevin Durant SuperSonics rookie card at $625,000

Current bidding for a 2007-08 Kevin Durant SuperSonics Rookie of the Year card is at $625,000.

The card is being offered at the Lelands Mid-Spring Classic Auction, which runs through June 4, so the price could go higher.

Durant is an 11-time All-Star who began his career with the Sonics when he was selected as the second overall pick in the 2007 NBA draft out of the University of Texas.

Durant won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award for the 2007-08 season, which is reflected in the mint condition card.

The opening bid for the autographed card was $150,000.

While other Durant cards are available in the auction at a much lower price, the rookie card has both Durant’s autograph and a green, white and gold Sonics swatch from the 2007-08 Rookie of the Year.

“Extremely scarce, the Durant 3-color is one of the most iconic Exquisite Rookie Patch Auto’s ever produced,” the auction description says.

Durant went on to play nine seasons with the franchise, which became the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2008.

Durant has also played for the Golden State Warriors and currently plays for the Brooklyn Nets.
