Seattle Storm signs Jaylyn Sherrod to development roster spot

SEATTLE — The Seattle Storm has signed Jaylyn Sherrod to the team’s second player development roster spot.

The 5-foot-7 guard previously played for the New York Liberty, where she won the 2024 WNBA championship.

In 10 games with Atlanta this season, Sherrod averaged 2.3 points, 1.1 assists and 0.5 steals per game.

Over her three seasons in the league, she has recorded averages of 1.6 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game.

Earlier this year, Sherrod played in Athletes Unlimited. In that league, she averaged 9.2 points per game on 43.4% shooting from the field, along with 2.8 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game.

Before turning professional, Sherrod completed five college seasons at the University of Colorado. As a Buffalo, she averaged 10.6 points, 4.6 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game.

She was a two-time All-Pac-12 selection and a three-time Pac-12 all-defensive choice.

Following her final college season, she earned 2024 WBCA and AP All-America honorable mention honors.
