Woman shot, buildings hit by gunfire in Pioneer Square

SEATTLE — Seattle police are looking for people who got into a gunfight, hitting a woman and shooting up buildings in Pioneer Square Thursday morning.

The gunfire erupted in the 400 block of 2nd Avenue Extension South just before 1 a.m.

Officers found a woman who had been shot in the arm. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Police also found three buildings nearby that had been struck by bullets.

According to witnesses, the shots may have come from people inside two cars exchanging gunfire.  Police do not believe the victim was the intended target.

Shell casings were recovered and detectives from the gang unit are investigating.
