PUYALLUP, Wash. — Puyallup police responded to a shooting Tuesday where an 18-year-old woman was killed.
Tuesday afternoon, police identified the woman as Sabrena Defreece.
Police first reported the shooting in the 900 block of 18th Avenue Southwest at 7:30 a.m.
Officers found the woman dead in a bedroom at the home after someone called police.
A handgun was recovered.
Three people were detained by police; two live in the home where the woman was found.
Police say it appears Sabrena and a 19-year-old man who lived at the home were in a bedroom listening to music.
The 19-year-old was handling the gun when it went off, striking the woman. He told others that he didn’t know the gun was loaded, according to police.
He's been booked into Pierce County Jail for suspicion of murder in the 2nd degree.
