SEATTLE — It's the week of Seattle's Seafair weekend festivities, and that means multiple ships arrived in Elliott Bay for Seafair Fleet Week and Maritime Celebration.

Some ships already arrived Tuesday and more arrived Wednesday for the annual Parade of Ships.

The U.S.S. Dewey is already docked at Bell Street Harbor along the Seattle waterfront.

The guided missile destroyer lives up to its classification. It's been outfitted with a laser weapon system, an experimental weapon which can be used to disable small boats and drones.

Chopper 7 was overhead when the U.S.S. Boxer arrived in Elliot Bay Tuesday.

The amphibious assault ship has served several deployments in the Persian Gulf and is part of the international anti-piracy task force chasing down pirates off the coast of Somalia.

The Boxer even helped negotiate the release of Captain Richard Phillips, the container ship captain held hostage by Somali pirates.

There will be three U.S. Navy ships, three Royal Canadian Navy ships, and a U.S. Coast Guard vessel available for public tours this week, starting Thursday.

Ship Tours:

  • Thursday, July 30 - Saturday, August 1: 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, August 2: 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

To add to the mix, the Blue Angels roared over a Mariners game at Safeco Field at about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The squadron will then do a second flyover and pass over Naval Air Station Whidbey Island at about 1 p.m.
