A Vancouver high school drama teacher accused of raping a 15-year-old boy made her first appearance Wednesday in Clark County Superior Court.
The judge set bail for 35yearold Stephanie McCrea at $40,000.
The Columbian reports (http://bit.ly/1Bq6Lux ) she's facing charges of child rape, sexual misconduct with a minor and tampering with a witness when she's arraigned Feb. 11.
Court documents say McCrea and the student had sexual relations at Evergreen High School and her home beginning in December.
McCrea has been a teacher at Evergreen since 2006.
She was placed on leave earlier this month when the rape investigation began and was arrested Tuesday.
Her lawyer, Steve Thayer, called an initial request for $500,000 bail "political" and said the married mother of a 9yearold has no criminal history.
