Redmond, Juanita High School closed Friday due to unsettling note

Officers consider the threat to be non-specific.

Redmond and Juanita High Schools will be closed Friday after students discovered threatening messages posted in a girl’s bathroom.

“”Don’t come to school on 2/5 if you like your life. I’m sorry F,” the note reads.

The message was scratched onto a paper towel dispenser at Juanita High School. Another message was scrawled on a bathroom wall at Redmond High School.

Police are investigating the credibility of both threats.

Students and staff will make up the missed school day and an additional day will added to the school year, the district says.

“The safety of our students and staff continues to be our number one priority,” a letter sent to Redmond High School families reads. “We appreciate the understanding of students and parents. Thank you for your continued support and partnership and we work together to keep students safe.”

It’s unclear whether the messages were directed at anyone in particular. KPD’s patrol division is providing extra patrols at the school for the rest of the week.

Anyone with information should call Kirkland police at 425-587-3402.
