Tully's ‘T' comes down to make room for replica of Rainier ‘R'

SEATTLE — Tully’s has removed its ‘T” from atop the former Seattle brewery building now owned by the coffee company.

Earlier this month, Tully’s announced it would remove its green “T” in order to allow for the reinstallation of a red neon Rainier Brewing Company “R,” which is an iconic symbol for Seattle.

The 12-foot “R” that will replace the “T” is a replica of the original sign and is being built by Western Neon in Seattle.

The new “R” is expected to be installed in a few weeks.

The original Rainier “R” is at Seattle’s Museum of History and Industry and will remain on display in the Faye G. Allen Grand Atrium artifact grid.
