West Virginia woman arrested after locking infant in car during nail appointment, police say

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A West Virginia woman locked her infant in a car Thursday while she got her nails done, police said.

Kathleen Vetter, 38, left her 11-month-old baby in a child seat in the car, which was turned off, around 2:50 p.m. outside of the Serendipity Salon and Spa, WCHS reported.

Charleston Fire Department freed and treated the infant, who was released to a family member, WSAZ reported.

Vetter was arrested and charged with gross child neglect with risk of creating injury or death, WOWK reported.
