In mid-December, someone cut the slide from a playground in Burbank, Washington, KEPR reported.

Police said they found a potential suspect and got a warrant to search his property. Officers said they found the missing car parts, as well as the slide on Feb. 26.

But an investigation into stolen catalytic converters gave officials the break they needed to crack the case of the missing slide, KFFX reported.

The missing slide had been installed on a bunk bed inside a child’s room in the mobile home in Pasco, Washington.

The slide had been repainted.

Pasco Parks and Rec recovered the slide.

Dustin Bushnell has been charged with possession of stolen property in relation to the slide’s alleged theft, KEPR reported.
