MACON, Ga. — A pregnant Georgia woman and her unborn child were killed when her vehicle flipped on an interstate highway in Macon, authorities said.
Clarita Mkayla Blackshear, 21, of Warner Robins, was declared dead at the scene, along with the unborn child, according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones. Jones said Blackshear was due to give birth next week, WMAZ reported.
According to police, Blackshear was driving a 2001 Toyota 4Runner in the northbound lane of Interstate 75 at about 3:15 p.m. EDT when she lost control of the vehicle, The Telegraph of Macon reported. Blackshear crashed into the median and the vehicle flipped, the newspaper reported.
There were no other injuries, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
