NEW BOSTON, Texas — Authorities in Texas discovered a pregnant woman dead in a New Boston home after someone cut her unborn child from her body, police said.
According to KTBS and KTVT, New Boston police found the body of a 22-year-old woman who was nearly eight months pregnant shortly before 10:30 a.m. Friday in an Austin Street home.
“The preliminary investigation indicated an unborn child had been removed from the victim’s body,” police said in a news release Saturday.
The baby also died, police said.
Investigators arrested a female suspect in Oklahoma, the news release said. Police have not released the name of the victim or suspect.
Officials with the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office, New Boston Police Department, Texarkana Police Department and Texas Rangers are investigating the case, according to KTBS.
