Jerry Stiller, ‘Seinfeld’ actor and father of Ben Stiller, dead at 92

NEW YORK — Comedian Jerry Stiller, well-known for his roles on TV's "Seinfeld" and "The King of Queens," has died at age 92, his son, actor Ben Stiller, announced early Monday.

"I’m sad to say that my father, Jerry Stiller, passed away from natural causes," Ben Stiller tweeted. "He was a great dad and grandfather, and the most dedicated husband to Anne for about 62 years. He will be greatly missed. Love you Dad."

According to Variety, the elder Stiller and wife Anne Meara, who died in 2015, began performing together as Stiller and Meara in the 1960s. He later appeared on Broadway and in several films, including "Hairspray."

In the 1990s, Jerry Stiller continued to make his mark by playing George Costanza's father, Frank Costanza, in the hit show "Seinfeld." He went on to land a similar role on the sitcom "The King of Queens."

In addition to his son, Ben Stiller, Jerry Stiller is survived by his daughter, actress Amy Stiller, and two grandchildren, the Los Angeles Times reported.
