MINERAL COUNTY, Mont. — A father shot his two young sons, killing one, before fatally shooting himself in a Montana home over the weekend, authorities said.
According to KPAX and KWYB, the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home near St. Regis shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday. Deputies found Anthony Dascher, 37, and his 7-year-old son dead from gunshot wounds, the news outlets reported. Dascher’s 4-year-old son, who also had been shot, was flown to a hospital in Washington state, where he remains on life support, deputies said.
The Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the shooting with assistance from the Montana Department of Criminal Investigation, according to KWYB.
Investigators believe Dascher was the shooter and are calling the incident a murder-suicide, KWYB reported.
