DeFUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. — A Florida man is facing more than 100 child pornography-related charges after police said they found images of children on his cellphone.
Walton County Sheriff’s Office said the office’s special victim’s unit was searching the home of Marty Scott Bass in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, after a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
When officials arrived, they said they were met by Bass who was wielding a shotgun. He was detained after police gave him multiple commands to put down the weapon.
Investigators said they confiscated his cellphone on which they found more than 100 images of child pornography showing children between the ages of 8 and 10.
During the execution of a search warrant, officers found a secret bunker with an entrance, disguised by a bench in a shed, leading to a hole in the ground.
Bass has been charged with 100 counts of possession of child pornography and 10 counts of the production of child porn, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
