ADAK, Alaska — A 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck near Alaska’s Andreanof Islands overnight, the U.S. Geological Survey is reporting.
According to the agency, the quake, which occurred shortly before 5 a.m. EST Thursday, was centered about 80 miles west-southwest of Adak at a depth of 33.6 miles.
No information about possible damage or injuries was immediately available. Authorities have not issued any tsunami watches or warnings in the area.
