OSHAWA, Ontario — Five people are dead following a shooting early Thursday in Ontario, authorities said.
According to the Canadian Press and CP24, Durham regional police responded to reports of gunfire shortly before 1:30 a.m. EDT at a home on Parklane Avenue in Oshawa. Officers arrived to find five people dead, including two men, a woman and two young teens, authorities said.
A sixth person also was wounded in the incident, the Canadian Press reported. Emergency crews rushed the woman, whose wounds were not considered life-threatening, to a nearby hospital for treatment, authorities said.
Police believe the shooter was one of the people found dead at the scene, according to the news outlets.
