Smith shared fan art from a freelance character designer named Luigi Lucarelli that depicted 2D animated versions of Genie. One was the 1992 original and the second was a similar version, made in Smith’s likeness.

"I know Genies don't have Feet... But you left some Big Shoes to fill," Smith captioned the post, in which he also gave credit to Lucarelli.

It’s no secret that Williams, who died in 2014, played a major role in bringing the character to life and influenced the final design of Genie in the the original film series.
