Sneakers that order pizza? Yeah, that’s right.
They also pause live TV.
But why, you ask?
As the official pizza of the NCAA college basketball tournament, Pizza Hut partnered with shoe designer, the Shoe Surgeon, to create the Pie Tops II sneakers.
This is the second year for the pizza-ordering sneakers, but this year, they come in two colors and also can pause live TV so basketball fans won’t miss a second of the game when their pizza arrives.
Like last year, the shoes are equipped with Bluetooth that links them to the user’s phone and Pie Tops app. The user can then instantly order a pizza by pushing a button in the shoe’s tongue.
For the pause function, the shoes are linked to the user’s TV via their cable provider.
The specially designed shoes include an “extreme marinara splash” design, extra “cheese pull” laces, “cheese grater” mesh and Pizza Hut branding. Hungry yet?
Also new this year -- a limited number of sneakers will be available for the public to purchase. Pizza Hut will make 50 pairs available on www.hbx.com the week of March 19.
Fans can follow @PizzaHut and @Hypebeast for details on how to purchase.
The price for the pizza shoes has yet to be revealed.
