Child writes poem explaining what it's like to live with autism

For kids dealing with autism, life can be confusing and difficult.

A 10-year-old boy who has Aspergers syndrome has written a poem that shines a light on the struggles he faces every day.

Benjamin Giroux was given an assignment at school, to write a poem. He was given words to use like "I am," and "I wonder."

Benjamin's dad, Sonny Giroux, said that he and Benjamin's mother were brought to tears when they read his words.

Benjamin explain that he considers himself odd, and new, and wonders if others are too, the Huffington Post reported.

The National Autism Association posted Benjamin's poem to Facebook.

Some of the responses to Benjamin's poem were, "Wow I got goosebumps!," "Wonderful poem young man." and "What a special young person. Wow. Wonderful writing."
