Federal Way police have arrested a 16-year-old boy in the fatal shooting of a Decatur High School student and a second teenager is being sought by police.
Wesley Gennings, 16, died the night of Feb. 13.
Police say they found Gennings dead of a gunshot wound behind the wheel of his car at 2031 SW Campus Drive in a shopping mall parking lot in Federal Way.
Witnesses reported seeing two people, who were inside the vehicle with the victim, run from the area.
The 16-year-old Federal Way boy, who was arrested Thursday, is a student at Thomas Jefferson High School. Police arrested the boy on the school campus. Investigators say he had a gun in his possession.
He has been booked into the King County Juvenile Detention Center on murder charges. His name is not being released pending formal charges.

A second suspect being sought in connection with Gennings’ murder is a 14-year-old Tacoma boy, Diante J. Pellum.
Pellum is black, 5 feet, 5 inches tall, 135 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He is a student at Saghalie Middle School.
Investigators say Pellum should be considered to be armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him should not approach him and instead contact police.
Police say that both teens met Gennings in Federal Way on Feb. 13 to buy marijuana and that they had been in Gennings’ vehicle.
