Wash. — After a stormy evening, branch of a tree or branch on a line caused an outage for 6,000 Tacoma Public Utilities customers in South Tacoma Tuesday morning.

The outage occurred around 5:30 a.m.  By 7:45 a.m., power had been restored to 5,000 of those customers.

On Monday night, power was cut to 2,300 customers in Seattle's Beacon Hill neighborhood, and a mudslide and downed trees west of Belfair cut power to 450 customers on North Shore Road.

Power was knocked out for all of Vashon Island and for 5,000 customers in Port Orchard.
