Firefighters said the two were outside when crews arrived.  No one was hurt.

According to West Pierce Fire, a mother and her baby were inside when the tree came crashing down during windy weather.

KIRO 7 News video showed that the tree snapped at its base, went through a fence and landed on the home's roof, causing major damage.

The house was red tagged and is not safe to be inhabited.

Officials say this is the time of year you should check the trees in your yard. Things to look for are holes in the tree trunk or missing bark.  Mushrooms at the base of the tree could be sign of rotted roots. The most obvious sign of possible trouble is a tree that is leaning.
