Pedestrian struck, killed on I-5 in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, Wash. — A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a car early Saturday on northbound I-5 at milepost 123.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Johnna Batiste said the right three lanes were closed for some time so officials could investigate, but they've since reopened.

Impairment was not suspected by the driver involved in the crash, Batiste said.

The identity of the pedestrian has not been released.

No other injuries were reported.
