A man Lakewood police say randomly attacked another man inside a Dairy Queen has been identified.
The victim, 33-year-old named Garrett Harrell, said he was punched for no reason as he was standing in line waiting to buy a Blizzard at 9:50 p.m. on June 28.
Harrell told the Tacoma News Tribune that he was in intensive care for two days after the punch.
He said he has no idea why the man punched him across the side of the head and caused bleeding and swelling in his brain.
After police released surveillance images of the attacker to the media Tuesday, an attorney contacted a Lakewood police detective and said the suspect had seen himself on social media and the news.
The attorney told the detective he believed that police were looking for his client in the assault case.
The attorney identified his client to the detective and said the suspect would not provide a statement to the detective.
The detective will present the case to the prosecutor for charging consideration.
