Heavy rain, snow causes minor flooding in Western Washington

SEATTLE — Snow fell between Sudden Valley and Lake Whatcom near Bellingham on Friday morning as other areas in Western Washington experienced heavy rain.

In King County, a flood watch continued to 6 p.m. on Friday.

Seattle Public Utilities crews responded to reports of ponding in several locations throughout Seattle, but there was no indication of any system breaks on Friday.

Colder conditions were expected to spread into western Washington through Saturday.

Saturday morning's heavy snowfall reached several cities Saturday morning including Seattle, Everett, Marysville, Mukilteo, Lake Stevens and Lynnwood.
