Police arrest two, solve more than 60 crimes

REDMOND, Wash. — Investigators say Casey Clark and Jocelyn Shields spent the summer breaking into cars and leasing offices at apartment complexes.  Most of the crimes were spread across the Eastside, but detectives say the duo struck in Seattle, too.

Redmond police say the pair was caught on camera July 10th breaking into the Delano Apartments. Officers recognized Clark from other arrests but they weren't able to find him. When his girlfriend, Jocelyn Shields, was released from the King County Jail Aug. 7 after being arrested for drugs, officers were there to arrest both of them for the car prowls and burglaries.

According to charging documents, Clark and Shields admitted to the crimes and hit so many different locations, they couldn’t remember them all.  The pair stashed stolen property, mostly small electronics, in two storage units in Renton.  Detectives say they stole phones, laptops and iPads they could sell for money to buy drugs.  Redmond Police say the arrest solved 62 crimes. “This is a big case. Property crime is a relatively easy crime to get away with. They commit crimes in the wee hours of the morning. There are no witnesses and we don’t know what happens to the stolen property,” said Lt.

Brian Coats, Redmond Police. Lt. Coats said Redmond worked closely with other local law enforcement to connect the pair to other crimes.

Shields was bailed out of the King County Jail and was supposed to appear in court on Monday.

She didn’t show up. Now there’s a warrant for her arrest.
