Oso landslide damage claims reach nearly 30

The number of damage claims filed in the Oso Landslide has doubled to nearly 30.

Twelve new claims were filed Monday.

The claims against Snohomish County and the state's Department of Natural Resources allege wrongful death, property loss and emotional distress.

The state and Snohomish County have 60 days to respond to the legal claim notices.  After that, lawsuits may be filed.

There were 43 fatalities in the Mar. 22 landslide.

The bodies of all but one of the victims have been recovered.
