SEATTLE — A Ford Mustang, green bell peppers, and police were all on the receiving end of a one-man rampage early Sunday at a parking garage on Capitol Hill.
Police arrested a 33-year-old suspect on Monday who wandered into a parking garage in the 1400 block of 12 Ave.
Once inside the garage, The suspect started checking car door handles and eventually threw a garbage can and hand dolly into a Ford Mustang, causing almost $4,000 in damage.
The man then continued his smashing spree, breaking into a walk-in freezer in the garage and singling out a $50 batch if green bell peppers for destruction.
When police arrived, the suspect tried to flee.
When an officer attempted to subdue the man as he walked through a doorway, the suspect slammed the door on the officer, who was still able to prevent the man from escaping.
Officers were able to get the suspect in handcuffs and booked him into King County Jail for property destruction.
Police don’t know what sparked the man’s outburst.
