EVERETT, Wash. — Dozens of homes in Everett were without water after a water main ruptured overnight.

The main broke on 60th Street and Seahurst Avenue, where crews worked for about six hours to restore service to 106 homes.

Crews started work at about 2 a.m. Wednesday to repair the 1963 8-inch cast iron main and stop water from rushing down the street.

No damage was reported.

Water service was restored by 8 a.m.  Officials say people should run their water until it's clear and air is released from the line. They said though water may appear discolored, it is safe to use and drink.
