NATIONAL — A person in Arkansas is having the best Christmas ever.
That’s because they won a $1.817 billion Powerball jackpot on Christmas Eve.
The win not only ended the lottery’s three-month stretch without a jackpot winner, but it also marked the second-largest lottery prize in U.S. history.
The previous jackpot was won on Sept. 6, when two winning tickets were sold in Missouri and Texas.
The winning ticket was purchased at a Murphy USA in Cabot, just outside Little Rock, Arkansas.
The winning numbers were 04, 25, 31, 52, and 59, with the Powerball number 19.
The last time a Powerball jackpot was won on Christmas Eve was in 2011.
