DES MOINES, Wash. — A school was evacuated, another has closed and a third has extra security after threats warned of shootings and bombs.

Mount Rainier High School in Des Moines was evacuated for a bomb threat Friday morning, the Highline School District confirmed.

Because Friday was an early-dismissal day anyway, students were let out at 11 a.m., 90 minutes early.

Des Moines police were still searching the building late Friday morning.

Parents picked up students at Midway Elementary, and students who take the bus boarded them at Pacific Middle School.

Police have to first clear the building for safety in order for some students to be able to get their personal cars to go home. Those students are waiting at Pacific Middle School.

The threat is the third within two days at Puget Sound-area high schools.

Bellevue police are investigating a threat posted on Facebook Friday about a shooting at Interlake High School.  Police said the threat was unsubstantiated, but the school later made the decision to release students for the day.

On Thursday, a threat  found scrawled on a bathroom wall at Rogers High School in Puyallup said there would be a shooting during first lunch on Friday.  Classes are being held, but there is extra security at the school.
