Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch lost his appeal of a $100,000 fine for not talking to the media, ESPN reported Thursday afternoon.
Lynch, who has never appeared to enjoy talking to reporters other than about his Fam 1st Family Foundation, also was fined $11,050 by the National Football League for his crotch grab at the end of his second Beast Quake run against the Arizona Cardinals.
Lynch’s $100,000 fine came in mid-November after warnings to speak more to reporters. After the Seahawks next game, Lynch answered almost every question with, “yeah,” and answered nearly all questions in another interview session by thanking reporters for asking. He also asked reporters why they keep asking him questions.
The fine for Lynch’s crotch grab came at the end of his 79-yard touchdown run. He made an almost-identical move after his first Beast Quake run in 2011 but was not fined in that incident.
