SEATTLE — An 84-year-old man injured in a house fire in Crown Hill has died at Harborview Medical Center, the fire department says.
Firefighters responded to the home at 8532 12th Avenue around 10 p.m. Thursday to find the one-story home engulfed in flames from the basement to the attic.
Lt. Sue Stangle said the man was found in the bathroom unconcious. He was the only person inside the home at the time of the fire.
KIRO 7 was there as the victim was removed from the house and transported to Harborview Medical Center.
Fire investigators determined that the accidental fire was caused by an electrical malfunction.
Damage is estimated at $300,000.
