OLYMPIA, Wash. — A man is under arrest for an Olympia man's death that was initially ruled an accident.
William “Cougar” Burleigh visited a friend in Portland last October.
After going out with a friend, Burleigh was found unconscious with a head injury and no pants.
He died at the hospital.
Police arrested 42-year-old Robert Browne in connection with Burleigh's death this week. Browne pleaded not guilty.
“I was sort of embarrassed that nobody seemed to take care. Now that they have arrested somebody, I think it's very gratifying," said Burleigh’s friend, Rebecca Random.
Police initially thought the death was accidental because Burleigh had a high blood alcohol level, but investigators started digging deeper after receiving reports of a fight in the area where Burleigh’s body was found.
