TACOMA, Wash. — A semi-truck driver had what was likely a terrifying close call when a trailer hitch flew through his windshield, narrowly missing his head.
The Washington State Patrol said the truck driver was on Interstate 5 in Tacoma Tuesday morning when the hitch shot through the windshield.
Troopers said the hitch popped out of the bed of a pickup then bounced off the road before hitting the semi. The driver of the pickup did not stop.
The semi-truck driver escaped with only minor injuries.
