Yakima ranks among the top 20 worst places in the nation for car thefts.
The National Insurance Crime Bureau ranked metro areas based on numbers and populations in 2015.
Yakima came in at number 19 in the nation. In Washington, Yakima has the highest theft rate, with 470 for every 100,000 people last year.
The Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue area came in at number two. Spokane and Spokane Valley ranked number three.
The highest rate in the country was in Modesto, California. There were more than 750 car thefts for every 100,000 people last year.
