SKYKOMISH, Wash. — The Washington State Patrol has established a tip line as it continues to seek the public’s help in locating the driver and vehicle involved in a fatal road rage shooting near Skykomish.
Raelyn Davis, 24, was killed in the shooting on U.S. Highway 2 near milepost 63 on the evening of Oct. 15.
Davis was traveling home from Leavenworth with her friends after they attended Oktoberfest, according to her father, Scott Davis.
“She lived every day to the fullest,” her father told KIRO 7 earlier this month. “For that to be taken with no chance to say goodbye, no chance to say I love you, is difficult.”
Investigators say the road rage incident apparently began when the driver of a dark-colored Subaru SUV with a cargo box on the roof flashed high beams at the Kia.
A person inside the Subaru then shot through the rear passenger window of the Kia, striking Davis.
Detectives are asking anyone who traveled between Leavenworth and Monroe on Saturday, Oct. 15, between 6:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. to check for dashcam footage to see if they passed the Subaru.
“Someone could have passed the vehicle and just not known, so we request those videos,” said Trooper Kelsey Harding.
Scott Davis is also asking the shooter to come forward.
“Do what’s right for the public, because it’s not just me that’s hurting.”
