Case manager ID’d as victim in fatal Belltown stabbing

SEATTLE — Seattle police are investigating a fatal stabbing in the Belltown neighborhood.

It happened shorty after 11 a.m. Monday morning on First Avenue near Blanchard Street, at the Lewiston-Scargo apartment building which is run by Plymouth Housing.

When Seattle Fire medics arrived at the scene, they found the woman dead.

After a search of the neighborhood, police found the suspect and arrested him before 4 p.m. Monday.

Friends of the victim identified her as Kristin Benson. According to LinkedIn, Benson was a housing case manager for Plymouth Housing Group.

Homicide detectives are interviewed the suspect. He was booked into the King County Jail on suspicion of murder.
